A very beautifull large very rare old copper chest coffer raised embossed with a 16th centry drinking tavern scenario mural on front, top, and sides very detaild. in very good condition would sit perfectly near a fire place Lenth 21 inc Width 13 inc hight 13 inc This is victorian in date It was very fashinable in large houses to keep coal or small wood in chests like this. It needed to look nice on the outside to hide its real purpose if in use in the main parlour or sittingroom. The coal chests of this type are wood carcased with either copper or brass coverings .
